Will MacDonald(as remembered by Oliver Chadwick) I first met Will MacDonald at Regent's College in 1992 where he gave a talk for the ANLP entitled 'NLP as Epistemology'. When the time came for him to seek a demo subject, I was lucky enough to get myself noticed and he invited me up front to explore the idea of an imaginary dreamline with waking consciousness at one end and the 'place of dreams' at the other. A few short steps back, and I entered one of the most profound and satisfying trance states I have ever experienced. It was the first of many that I enjoyed with Will at the helm. He was one of the trainers on my Master Practitioner course and I assisted on numerous other Sensory Systems courses where he was teaching. I never really knew him outside that context but, as smokers, we became natural companions during coffee breaks outside the doorways of whatever venue was being used. I valued those conversations and was always intrigued by the tantalising glimpses into his previous careers. In particular, I recall a time when he chatted about the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, about whom he'd made a TV documentary. For me, Will MacDonald epitomised the very best of NLP. I find that I am still continuing to learn from him, years after our last meeting. The courteous interest he paid to all and his quiet attitude of positive expectation have served me well as a model, not least in my own relationships with clients. I consider myself fortunate to have known Will, however briefly, and know that my life became enriched onwards from that evening in in 1992 when our paths first crossed.
